They are notified if the predetermined limits are exceeded. Network services are evidently becoming more and more popular outside working hours as well. A location-based service such as call forwarding can assist the user in finding the nearest shop or restaurant, or an emergency call transmitting background information can make the arrival of proper medical assistance possible. Certain areas have special requirements, like logistics companies, which need intelligent GSM/GPS-based vehicle tracking solutions for determining locations.
Another current challenge for telecom providers is the increasing demand for customized solutions. It can happen that only a niche market is interested in certain services, sometimes only one or two customers. In order to remain cost-effective, a large number of new customers were needed for the creation of new services when traditional technologies were used. A unified SIP-based platform and a possibility to purchase the major services in a completed form can greatly assist the creation, management and operation of new solution.
