Telecommunication companies must face a number of challenges from an information technology perspective nowadays. The convergence of telecommunication and information technology systems places their basic activities on new foundations. The increase in the number of services provided to customers also represents a significant challenge.

Services provided by financial institutions, banks and insurance companies have also undergone radical changes recently. The number of services increased and these are available through more channels (Internet, mobile phone). More and more enterprises establish collaboration with respect to specific services.

The IT infrastructure of industrial companies and service providers must face several challenges nowadays. Customers, partners and vendors more strongly require that their systems are connected in order to ensure the continuity of production and performance, thus ensuring an efficient and fast flow of information. A number of activities (such as procurement) of the companies are now based on information technology, of which it was not typical formerly.

Similarly to other countries, state administration institutions in Hungary also make great efforts to formulate the practices of service providing government. An important stage of this is the development of electronic services.
