In June, 2004 at the Athens World Congress on Information Technology the representatives of 17 countries – including Hungary – signed the declaration that urges the development of electronic government services. Electronic administration has been already implemented in several institutions in Hungary. The Government Portal and the local municipalities’ portals make access possible to new, electronic services.

An up-to-date portal platform needs to be established for customer liaison in every case, to which the applications of different institutions can be easily connected, that can be flexibly further developed and that provides the basis for modern solutions such as converging telecommunication solutions (SMS, MMS and voice messaging).
